Here are some of the Technical reasons why our structures are the
strongest, longest lasting, in the market place today --
Foundation: foundation is determined upon analysis of site sub surface.
Posts: all poles are 0.06 CCA oxide treat, ground contact. Life span
is 25 years,
plus. The exterior poles are installed on a 33 degree angle.
Ceiling Support System: 1/4" extra high strength galvanized
strand is used for the
ceiling support system. The breaking strength is 6,900 lbs. The ceiling cables
are
tensioned to approximately 1,400 lbs. Guy wires are tensioned to approximately
2,800 lbs.
Ceiling Cover: there are multiple percentages of shade fabric from
20% to 80%. There
are also winter cover fabrics offered for frost and freeze protection, ground
cover material,
insect screens, bird netting, and hail protection.
Ceiling Cover Attachment: shade ceiling panels are attached to the
1/4" ceiling support
strand using a 12 gauge pointed s-hook, piercing the reinforcing tape fabricated
on three
sides of each panel. The s-hooks are then pulled over the 1/4" ceiling
strand every 18" to
make the lateral connection, second to lineal tension.
Reverse Pressure System: one 4' x 10" earth anchor is installed
2' from each interior
post. The anchor is connected to the ceiling with 1/4" strand and 2 dead
end guy grips.
Sidewalls: for optimal wind deflection, a minimum of 63%, maximum
of 73% shade,
can be installed.
Connecters -- Types and Specifications:
(a) Load Transfer Connecters: one per exterior pole; 5/8" x
8" drop forged galvanized
straight thimble eye bolt, utility power grade. One per exterior pole; 5/8" drop
forged
galvanized thimble eye nut, utility power grade. Two per exterior pole; 11/16" curved
gouge washers, utility power grade.
(b) Cable Connecters: all cable connections, cable suspensions, all
cable lock offs,
all pole lock offs, and all cable dead ends, are made with preformed, 1/4" steel
galvanized,
dead end guy grips, utility power grade.
(c) Shade Connecters: ceiling lineal shade connecters are 12 gauge,
11/16" s-hooks
on 24'/30' attachment ends 12" apart. 16d common nails are used on tension
end, with
4" saran webbing tape shielding reinforcing. 11/16" s-hooks are used
along two long
sides, 18" apart. Side shade connectors are 11/16" s-hooks on top
long side, 18" apart,
and 12" apart on attachment end. 16d common nails are used on tension
end, suspension
cable, and 0 grade cable.
